MGIMO Signs Cooperation Agreement with Permanent Representation of Krasnodar Administration

April 4th, MGIMO concluded a Cooperation Agreement with the Permanent Representation of the Administration of the Krasnodar Region under the Russian Government. The document was signed by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Social Development Igor Loginov and on the Krasnodar Administration’s side by the Head of the Permanent Representation, Yu. Ivanov. Also attending the meeting were the Chairman of the Kuban Fraternity in Moscow Yu. Azarov and MGIMO students from Krasnodar.

The agreement offers a framework for cooperation in many different fields: jointly selecting talented young people from the Krasnodar region to study at MGIMO, organizing student internships in Krasnodar, jointly creating educational programs etc. MGIMO recently opened a department dedicated to international agricultural markets and starting in September 2019 will launch together with Kuban State Agrarian University, a graduate program on World Agrarian Markets.

During the meeting, Yu. Ivanov spoke about the regional administration’s interest in local students returning to Krasnodar after having completed their studies to help develop their region, which has a huge economic and industrial potential. Igor Loginov applauded the achievements of MGIMO students from Krasnodar and agreed to offer assistance in the realization of new joint projects.
Yu. Azarov emphasized the need to create favourable conditions to motivate Krasnodar students to return upon graduation. The parties signed the agreement, met with some of the 123 students from the region currently studying at the University and decided to create an association of Krasnodar students at MGIMO.
