April 25th, the former Armenian Foreign Minister (2008–2018), Honorary Doctor of MGIMO, Eduard Nalbandyan came to MGIMO to present his monograph «Diplomacy of Armenia 2008–2018».
MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov welcomed the guests and remarked that Eduard Nalbandyan’s contribution was significant in many ways, as a researcher and also as a diplomat who headed the Armenian Foreign Ministry in challenging times.
During his speech, Eduard Nalbandyan commented upon Armenia’s foreign policy and his country’s relations with Russia, noting that bilateral relations are flourishing. The speaker also remarked that Armenia is an active member of over a hundred international organizations, has signed about nine hundred agreements and over a thousand meetings have been held by the country’s foreign ministers.
The guest praised MGIMO on the high level of expertise of its students and underlined the importance of their future contribution to stable international relations. Eduard Nalbandyan also took questions from the audience and commented on many issues, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of Eurasian Economic Commission Board, Tigran Sargsyan, the Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toghanyan and the former presidential envoy to the Nagorno-Karabakh (1992-1996) Vladimir Kazimirov.
