September 25th, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov went to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for a meeting with the Deputy Minister Alexey Gruzdev, during which they discussed the opportunities for MGIMO students to undergo placements within the ministry.
The sides remarked that MGIMO and the Ministry of Industry and Trade already cooperate highly efficiently in a number of spheres and that they both carefully monitor foreign trade and aim to train experts capable of promoting Russian products on the global market.
Vladimir Morozov noted that MGIMO, thanks to the funding received from the Potanin Foundation, offers to an increasing number of its students the opportunity to do internships abroad in Russian embassies, trade missions and international organizations. As in May 2018, the trade missions were transferred from the Ministry of Economic Development to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vice-Rector thought it necessary to update the current agreement on internships.
Alexey Gruzdev expressed, on behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a keen interest in welcoming MGIMO students, noting that both sides would benefit from the arrangement. The Vice-Rector invited his host to participate in the University’s International Career Days on November 27th and 28th.
