MGIMO and UNITAR Open Joint Master's Degree

July 14th, a videoconference was organized with the participation of representatives of MGIMO, the International Institute for Energy Policy and Diplomacy and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) during which the parties discussed the launch of a joint master's program in science diplomacy.

The conference was attended by P.De Briones and P.Aubert, responsible at UNITAR for coordinating cooperation with MGIMO, the Director of MIEP Professor V.Salygin, the Head of MGIMO’s Center for Science Diplomacy, Head of the UNITAR Science Diplomacy Program, Visiting Professor at Harvard University P.Berkman, the Head of the International Law Department at MGIMO Professor A.Vylegzhanin, the Deputy Director of MIEP S.Vasiliev and the Project Coordinator of the Center for Science Diplomacy V.Ruzakova.

During the meeting, the parties made plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and an Agreement on the implementation of the joint master's program in "Science Diplomacy". The Memorandum will also reflect the intentions of both sides to develop joint research projects.

Participants in the videoconference also underlined the benefits of attracting reputable foreign educational and research centers to the implementation of the joint master's program, in particular, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria.
