MGIMO and Thomson Reuters Sign Memorandum on Cooperation

December 25th, MGIMO signed a Memorandum on Cooperation with Thomson Reuters, one of the main firms on the market to provide analytical information and technological solutions to businesses in Russia and abroad.

The Deputy Director of the Human Resources Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Berdnikov, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov, the Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations Oleg Pichkov and his Deputy all attended the meeting. The delegation from Thomson Reuters was led by the Head of Strategic Relationships, Roman Kortava.

Vladimir Morozov gave the guests an overview of the functions of MGIMO’s Human Resources department and explained that MGIMO trains high quality experts, not only for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also for Russian and International Corporations. Oleg Pichkov mulled over the opportunities for cooperation between MGIMO and Thomson Reuters in the spheres of student internships, employment and joint research.

Roman Kortava noted that Thomson Reuters has the skills to provide universities with access to the most advanced information technologies to assist them in reaching their goals in education and research.

In the end, the sides decided to go beyond the areas of cooperation defined in the Memorandum and to develop as soon as possible a mutually beneficial partnership, which would contribute to improving the educational process and the quality of research.
