Russian-Greek Cross Cultural Year Launched in Thessaloniki!

May 9th, the Cross Year of languages and literature of Russia and Greece was solemnly opened at the international book fair in Thessaloniki.

Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the Russian President for International Cultural Cooperation and Ilias Klis, the Coordinator of the Committee for the Cross Year of Language and Literature from the Greek side, former Greek Ambassador to Russia, signed a cooperation agreement.

Also attending on the Greek side were the Minister of Culture and Sport Myrsini Zorba and the Deputy Foreign Minister Markos Bolaris. The Russian side was represented by the Ambassador of Russia to Greece, MGIMO graduate Andrei Maslov, the First Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Grigory Trubnikov, the Deputy Minister of Education Tatyana Sinyugina as well as representatives of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media and of Rossotrudnichestvo.

MGIMO presented at the Russian stand of the forum its new publications and traditional textbooks devoted to teaching the Russian and Greek languages. May 11th, representatives of the University told the guests about the University’s new educational programs and admission procedures for foreign students.
