In the recently published 12th global ranking of centers of expert analysis «Global Go To Think Tank Index Report 2018» yearly compiled by experts from the University of Pennsylvania with the support the United Nations, MGIMO has improved its position compared to last year.
The University of Pennsylvania examines each year over six thousand research centers in the world and rates them based on a wide survey involving representatives of the think tanks and almost five thousand journalists, politicians, experts from the public and private sectors specializing in economic and political research. The ranking assesses how influential the think tanks are at global and regional levels, and also considers the scope of research performed and special achievements.
In the category of think tanks affiliated to universities, MGIMO climbed from 13th place in 2017 to 11th place in the global ranking. MGIMO also performed well for «Domestic Economic Policy» taking the 58th place in the world, and for «Science and Technology» coming 43rd. Among «Think tanks with the most significant Impact on Public Policy», MGIMO took the 34th place.
