On July 18, 2023 Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova, Director of the ASEAN Centre and Associate Professor at the Department of Asian and African Studies, delivered a lecture within a framework of summer course of one of Indonesia’s leading universities — Gadjah Mada.
During her lecture Dr. Koldunova spoke about historical and contemporary aspects of Russia’s relations with Southeast Asia. The audience raised a number of questions after the lecture. Gadjah Mada University’s summer courses traditionally gather together lecturers and students from Indonesia and many other countries. They presuppose an extensive lecture program devoted to different aspects of Southeast Asia’s development in the macro-regional context.
This year MGIMO students majoring in Indonesia joined the course. ASEAN Centre’s Expert Kira Tabunova became an offline participant of the course.
Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova continued a series of collaborative efforts between the ASEAN Centre and Gadjah Mada University. Both parties aim for joint research and educational activities.
