The book «Diplomatic Relations between Russia and France on the reports of the Ambassadors of the Emperors Alexander I and Napoleon. 1809-1812. The Despatches and Letters of Prince A.B.Kurakin. Vol.1» which has for Executive Editor, MGIMO Rector A.Torkunov, was published with the financial support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.

The foreword to the book was written by the Executive Secretary of the Trianon Dialogue, Ambassador A.K.Orlov.

The volume is a follow-up to the publication by the Grand Duke Nikolai Mikhailovich of Russia (1859-1919) «Diplomatic Relations between Russia and France on the reports of the Ambassadors of the Emperors Alexander I and Napoleon (1809-1812)», published in St. Petersburg in 1905-1914. The book contains dispatches and letters from the Russian Ambassador to Paris, Prince A.B. Kurakin, which are published in their original language, French, and translated into Russian. The papers are accompanied by expert comments. The target audience is researchers specialised in the foreign policy and diplomacy of the early 19th century and anyone interested in European history of the Napoleonic era.
