MGIMO’s New Courses "Bankruptcy Law" and "Employment Law" Now on Coursera

MGIMO has uploaded two new courses in English onto Coursera, devoted to Bankruptcy Law and Employment Law, which were authored by the Professor of the Department of Constitutional Law A.Shashkova.

The course "Bankruptcy Law" offers students an overview of what companies do when they face bankruptcy. The main aim of the course is to give readers fundamental knowledge regarding bankruptcy and insolvency legislation in the Russian Federation.

The course will help students tell the difference between bankruptcy procedures and define their goals. They will also learn about the benefits of involving an arbitration manager and find out what a "settlement agreement" is.

The “Employment Law” course provides an overview of the basics of employment law in the Russian Federation. The main goal of the course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge about Russian labor legislation, with an emphasis put on employment contracts. The course also explains the grounds and conditions for dismissing employees.

Upon completion of the course, students will understand the nature of employment contracts, the main responsibilities assigned to the parties to the contract, the grounds and conditions for dismissal and the rights of employers and employees.

The courses have been designed for undergraduate and graduate students, Russian and foreign lawyers, heads of legal entities, financial directors, chief accountants, auditors and anyone interested in Russian Employment law.
