April 9th, the student intellectual contest «Brain Ring» was kicked off at MGIMO by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bülbüloğlu. Timed to coincide with the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan, the event is part of a larger initiative to support presidential candidate Ilham Aliyev.
The Ambassador welcomed the competing teams and emphasized the benefits of organizing such events. After the contest, participants and guests enjoyed a buffet with Azerbaijani sweets.
During his visit to MGIMO, the Ambassador also had a working meeting with the University’s Vice-Rector for Social Development Igor Loginov and members of the faculty during which they discussed a myriad of topics related to bilateral relations, including cooperation in education, internships of Azerbaijani and Russian students, as well as joint cultural and academic events.
