October 30th, a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by its Deputy Foreign Minister Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, visited MGIMO.
The University’s Vice-Rector for Research, Evgeny Kozhokin, greeted the guests and told them about MGIMO’s history and the educational programs it offers, focusing on its international outlook and its unique method for teaching foreign languages. The sides mulled over the opportunities of implementing student exchange programs and carrying out joint research.
The visiting delegation included the Deputy Foreign Minister, also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Deputy Minister for Asian and Eurasian countries Taufik Al Mansur, the Ambassador of Bahrain to Russia, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Saati, and other high-ranking diplomats.
Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Khalifa gave a talk to MGIMO students about the current political situation in the Middle East, the Arab Spring, bilateral relations and the foreign and domestic policy priorities of his country. The speaker also noted that never had he met in any university in the world, students with such an excellent command of Arabic.
