October 20th, the Ambassador of Australia to Russia, Peter Tesch, was received at MGIMO by the University’s Rector Anatoly Torkunov and the Head of the International Office, Egor Andreev. The parties mused over the possibilities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of research.
During their interview, Anatoly Torkunov spoke about MGIMO’s international outlook; describing to the guest the joint programs MGIMO has with top-notch international universities. MGIMO offers short-term courses for foreign students and a vast array of programs taught both in English and in Russian. The University plans to further expand its cooperation in education with foreign institutions.
eter Tesch remarked that the Australian side is interested in collaborating with Russia in the field of higher education and in expanding the teaching of Russian in Australian universities. Following the meeting, the guest made a lecture to MGIMO students on regional problems.
