February 28th, the photo exhibition «Russia and Turkey through the Lens of Turkish and Russian Diplomats» opened at MGIMO. The Ambassador of Turkey to Russia Mehmet Samsar and MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov welcomed the guests.
The Rector underlined the importance of Turkish studies at MGIMO and expressed his pleasure at the exhibition being held at the University.
The Ambassador of Turkey in Moscow, Mehmet Samsar, conveyed his gratitude to Anatoly Torkunov for the hospitality and shared his hope that the exhibition would contribute to the development of tourism and cultural relations between Russia and Turkey.
The photographs at the exhibition were taken by Igor Mityakov, an employee of the Russian Foreign Ministry who held a diplomatic position in Turkey for six years, and Orhan Gazigil the Press Secretary of the Turkish Embassy in Moscow.
The exhibition will run until March 7th in the atrium of MGIMO’s new building.
