November 11th, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs, Andrey Baykov, met with the Director-General and Dean of the Rennes School of Business, Professor Thomas Froerlicher.
Also attending the meeting were the Head of the Department of Geopolitics of the Rennes School of Business Dr. Thomas Flichy de La Neuville, the Director of MGIMO’s Business Incubator and Associate Professor of Management, Marketing and Foreign Trade Olga Hotiasheva, the Deputy Head of the International Office Elena Timofeeva, the Deputy Head of Master Training Maria Apanovich and the Head of Pedagogical Programmes at the Master Training Department, Oxana Bakakina.
During the talks, the sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation, which will enable student exchanges and the creation of joint masters degrees in the fields of «Management», «International Relations» and «Trade». The parties also expressed the desire to develop joint research and proceed to exchanges of faculty members.
Thomas Froerlicher presented the Rennes School of Business, described its educational, academic and international activities and expressed his enthusiasm at the start of cooperation between MGIMO and his institution. The guest also mentioned the strategic areas for scientific and educational collaboration: the agribusiness and financing of the agricultural sector; artificial intelligence; supply chain management and management in complex systems (Big Data).
MGIMO’s Vice-Rector Andrey Baykov spoke about the University, underlining its international perspective and longstanding relationship with leading business schools like HEC (Higher School of Commerce of Paris), the Toulouse Business School (France), the University of Geneva (Switzerland), ICN Business School (Nancy, France), Henley Business School (UK), ESCP Paris and expressed hope for a lasting and fruitful cooperation with the Rennes School of Business.
The Rennes School of Business has received accreditation from the French Ministry of Higher Education, the GSE (Association of Higher Schools of France), AMBA (Association of MBAs), the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, an American certification) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System). It is also the only business school in France which has programs approved by the UK’s Open University, thanks to which its graduates have dual, French and English, diplomas.
The School’s three main principles are academic mobility, international cooperation and close ties with the business community. It is famous for its international activities; indeed 50% of its students are foreigners and its faculty members come from 34 different countries.
