January 26th to February 3rd, MGIMO faculty members attended a Professional Development Course in Teaching and Learning and English-Medium Instruction in Higher Education at Henley Business School (the University of Reading, UK).

In accordance with MGIMO’s continuing education program, 23 lecturers from language and other departments travelled to one of the leading universities in the world for a week’s course to enhance their professional skills.

The program comprised a course of lectures on how to teach in English, academic writing, the use of electronic resources, and innovative ways to work with students. MGIMO faculty members also attended lectures by leading professors at the University of Reading, shared their teaching experiences and best practices in the field. At the end, each participant prepared and presented a topic during an «open lesson».

MGIMO has been cooperating with the University of Reading since 2013, when they launched the first joint MA programs in «Jurisprudence» and «International Relations». During the first year, students study at MGIMO, and during the second they go to the UK. The first cohort of students was enrolled in the BA program in «International Relations» in 2017 and in 2018 a joint BA program in «Economics» was launched. Additionally, agreements on MA programs were signed with Henley Business School in «Finance and Credit», «Trading» and a joint PhD program was created.
