December 3rd-6th, a delegation from MGIMO, led by its Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov, visited the National University of Public Service of Hungary. During the visit, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation and jointly participated in a number of scientific events.
The Russian delegation also included Alexey Voskresenky, the Dean of MGIMO’s Faculty of Political Science, the Deputy Director for Languages of the University’s Odintsovo campus Irina Mazaeva and other members of the faculty. The representatives of MGIMO had a meeting with the management of the Hungarian National University of Public Service and the sides signed an Agreement on Cooperation, which paves the way to exchanges of students and lecturers.
The Rector of NUPS András Patyi presented to the guests the research and educational activities of the University and underlined the importance of the cooperation between MGIMO and NUPS. The Hungarian Vice-Rector for International Relations Györgyi Nyikos and members of the faculty participating in the meeting noted the benefits of joint research and expressed enthusiasm about the collective monograph experts from both universities are working on.
During the visit, the MGIMO delegation took part in round tables, presentations and discussions. Alexey Voskresensky presented a collective monograph on whether non-Western democracy is possible and Irina Mazaeva gave a talk analyzing the main stumbling blocks to teaching foreign languages. A myriad of issues were discussed, including the relationship between democracy and the stability of public administration, the link between political regime and foreign policy, integration, regionalism and the need for universities to share best practices.
