October 31st, the Ambassador of Ecuador to Russia, Julio Prado, came to MGIMO at the invitation of the University’s Latin American Club and the Ibero-American Center. The guest delivered a lecture to an audience of students and faculty members, opening a cycle of meetings with ambassadors of Latin-American states.
The Ambassador spoke about the cultural specificities, traditions and customs of his country, the main trends in architecture, literature and painting of the Latin American country. The questions put to the guest by the Spanish-speaking students reflected their interest in Ecuador’s culture and art.
During his time at MGIMO, Julio Prado was received by the University’s Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs, Andrey Baykov. The sides discussed the different opportunities to develop cooperation in science and education. Also attending the meeting, were the Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of Ecuador H. Palacios, the Second Secretary of the Embassy P. Munos and the Deputy Head of the Spanish Language Department, Galina Gorenko.
