May 21st, MGIMO took a step further in its collaboration with the banking industry by signing a cooperation agreement with one of the largest Russian private banks, Russian Standard Bank.

The meeting was attended by MGIMO Vice-Rector Vladimir Morozov, the Dean of the School of International Economic Relations, Oleg Pichkov and the Deputy Dean, Yulia Potanina. On the bank Russian Standard’s side, the Director of the Acquiring Department I. Emelyanova and the Director of the Human Resources Department S. Shilov took part in the signing ceremony.

At the start of the signing ceremony, Oleg Pichkov remarked that MGIMO has managed to significantly improve the level of training of its graduates in the economic sphere, and this explains why MGIMO alumni are in high demand on the labour market.

Vladimir Morozov welcomed the representatives of the Bank, and described to them the career guidance system developed at MGIMO, which enabled the University to score high in rankings in the «interaction with employers» and «demand for graduates» categories. MGIMO’s profile orientation system allows students to build their own career paths. The Vice-Rector also emphasized the importance of different initiatives to help with the professional self-realization of students and graduates.

Oleg Pichkov added that the new curricula take account the requirements of employers and apply their professional standards. This way, MGIMO graduates fully understand the demands of the modern labor market even before they start their professional career.

In turn, I. Emelyanova, expressed her desire to help MGIMO students to deepen their knowledge in the sphere of advanced banking technologies, and confirmed that they are preparing master classes for the autumn semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. The Cooperation Agreement allows for the creation of new placements and internships for students and paves the way to a long-term partnership between the two parties.
