MGIMO Kicks Off Academic Year in Tashkent

September 6th, newly enrolled undergraduate and graduate students of MGIMO in Tashkent were presented with their student ID cards during a solemn ceremony in Tashkent.

MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs Artem Malgin handed to first year students of the BA program «Analysis and Modelling of Socio-Economic Processes» and of the MA programs «International Private, Commercial and Financial Law» and «System Analysis in International Business», their student cards.

The day before the start of studies, program leaders Y. Kozlovskaya (for «Business Informatics») and A. Loboda (for «Jurisprudence») held organizational meetings, during which they described to students the educational process for the different programs.

Classes in the undergraduate program started on September 9th and the graduate programs will begin on September 16th.

At the same time on September 9th, a grand opening of the Lyceum classes of MGIMO in Tashkent took place, a project jointly realized by MGIMO’s Gorchakov Lyceum and the Academic Lyceum «International House-Tashkent». The dual program counts fifty-two students, both Uzbek citizens and Russians whose parents live or work in Uzbekistan. The schoolchildren and their parents were greeted by the Director of the Gorchakov Lyceum, R. Kotov, who gave a presentation on the benefits and opportunities offered by the new program.

During the trip to Tashkent, the MGIMO delegation inspected the repairs undertaken on the new campus and participated in a meeting with their Uzbek colleagues dedicated to new areas of cooperation in 2020.
