Triple Degree Master Program «Preparation of international middle managers» MIEX

The master program was opened in MGIMO in 2005 according to the cooperation agreements between MGIMO University, the ICN Business School (Nancy, France) and the University of Bologna (Italy).

Then another foreign universities joined the program and as result there appeared an international consortium of 7 Universities: Bologna University (Italy), ICN Business School of Nancy (France), MGIMO University(Russia), La Sal University (Mexico), School of Business of the East China University of Science and Technology (Shanghai, China), Uppsala University (Finland), Federal University Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegri, Brazil).

This multilateral program was named MIEX. In December, 2008 the multilateral treaty about MIEX joint program was finally signed.
The master program is aimed at giving students the key skills enabling future professional managers to work in globalized international business. The main requirements for the program is a bachelor degree and good knowledge of English.

To apply for the program it is necessary:
1. To have a file of the following documents:

  • a motivation letter
  • CV;
  • A recommendation letter of a professor of the leading department;
  • The results of IELTS or TOEFL exam (the English language) — if you have
  • For students of other universities it is necessary to send the transcript of records for 4 years of bachelor studies.

2. to be interviewed

3. to pass the MGIMO internal exam in the English language in June or bring the results of the international exam.

Period of study lasts 2 years. During the first year students study at the ICN Business School of Nancy(France) in the 1st semester, the second semester they spend at the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Bologna (Italy). From April to June there is an obligatory internship in an international company in any of member countries. During the second year students study at MGIMO, foreign students study at MGIMO and their national universities. Moreover, there is an opportunity to continue studies in one of the partner universities after the 1st year.

The number of students from every university is limited by 15 people.

Tuition fee for Russian students — 15.000 Euro for 2 years

Field Work Activities & report

Teamwork and practically oriented studies are in focus. At the end of the 2nd semester students should do a ‘field research’ in a group for Italian, French and Russian companies.

Elective disciplines allow to get additional knowledge concerning specific features of doing business in France, Italy and other EU countries, foreign economic policy of the EU, China, Mexico, Brazil, internationalization of small and middle companies and shape individual educational trajectories of listeners. Lectures are read by the professors of all partner universities.

  • II year — MGIMO University

Obligatory disciplines:

  • Organization theory and organizational behavior
  • Corporate finance
  • International marketing
  • English language (as a professional one)

Besides, there are several disciplines relating to management, foreign economic activity, finance law of Russia and foreign states.

After graduation Russian students have an opportunity to get 3 master diplomas in management: of MGIMO University, the ICN Business School of Nancy, the University of Bologna.

The obligatory requirement for getting diplomas of the partner universities is the implementation of the study plans for the first and second years.

The study plan for foreign students includes a special program concerning the specific features of doing business in Russia.
