II International Conference «Climate Change in Industry 4.0»

On November 12, 2021, MGIMO together with the Institute of Scientific Communications (ISC) is holding the second international scientific and practical conference «Climate Change in Industry 4.0».

Industrialization, globalization and the pursuit of economic growth around the world have generated many negative environmental effects that affect the quality of life of all the mankind. Climate change is becoming the main issue of leading international conferences and summits.

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution and the emergence of the digital economy, the transition to a new technological order known as Industry 4.0 is becoming more and more evident. The conference is intended to draw the attention of the world academic community to this field and to unite the efforts of researchers of climate change and Industry 4.0 for a systematic study of relevant problems and prospects for their solution.

All interested persons are invited to participate in the conference: business representatives, professors, researchers, graduate students. The following sections are proposed for discussion: Climate change and the spread of epidemics: current manifestations, problems of adaptation and prospects in the context of Industry 4.0; International experience and current trends in combating climate change based on advanced Industry 4.0 technologies; Climate smart innovation: experience and prospects of their application in various economic sectors; Green finance in Industry 4.0 to counter climate change; Risks of combating climate change based on Industry 4.0 and risk-management in the practice of public and corporate governance.

The objectives of the Conference are:

Systematic reflection and scientific analysis of modern manifestations of climate change and the potential of Industry 4.0 contribute to smoothing these manifestations and a comprehensive (full-scale) solution to the problem of climate change.

  • To observe international experience in combating climate change based on the advanced technological capabilities of Industry 4.0;
  • To develop methodological approaches and applied solutions for the use of advanced technologies of Industry 4.0 to mitigate the consequences, slow down the process of climate change, and, if possible, ensure the reverse change – restoration of a favorable climate;
  • To identify financial barriers for using the capabilities of Industry 4.0 aimed at combating climate change and developing promising applied solutions to overcome climate problems;
  • To identify the risks of combating climate change based on Industry 4.0 and develop recommendations for risk-management in state and corporate governance.

Researchers of the prospects for solving urgent problems of climate change based on the capabilities of Industry 4.0 in modern Russia are invited to participate in the conference.

Official languages of the conference are Russian and English. The conference is held in person, but the online format of participation is also possible.

Papers that have passed double-blind peer-review will be published in the book with indexing in international databases (Scopus and Web of Science). Payment goes after the decision to publish the paper.

The publication texts (articles on the report) must be submitted in electronic form to the conference organizing committee no later than October 31st. The abstract of the publication should be submitted by the end of September. Reports and materials for publication must be formatted in accordance with the requirements.
