Conference dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Russia and Thailand Diplomatic Relations

The year 2022 will mark a significant milestone for Russia and Thailand. More than a century and a quarter ago the two nations decided to get engaged in friendly relations. Throughout the 20th and 21st centuries this relationship experienced ups and downs, but both countries never forgot what made their ties so special – mutual respect and equal treatment irrespective of historical and political circumstances. To commemorate this important date, MGIMO University (Russia) and Thammasat University (Thailand) invite scholars from both countries to delve deeper into history of Russia-Thailand relations and assess the present state of their affairs from different perspectives: those of international relations (IR), history, politics, cultural, linguistic or multidisciplinary studies. Abstract submission deadline: December 30, 2021. Date of the conference: February 21-22, 2022 (online, via Zoom).
