Student Academic Society

MGIMO offers wide opportunities for students to develop their research and study skills.
The Student Academic Society is the oldest student organization of MGIMO.
For many years, the Student Scientifi c Society promotes scientific activities among students. It  brings more than 20 interest clubs together, some of them specializing in particular regions or countries and others dealing with actual issues.
Society’s members have the opportunity to master the basics of organizing mass events, public speaking and conducting scientifi c research, they have the opportunity to gain practical experience and carry out their own research projects, amongst many other benefi ts of participating in its projects.

NSO brings more than 20 student interest clubs together, some of them specializing in particular regions or countries (like the African Club, Germanic Studies Club, etc.) and others dealing with particular issues (e. g. Business Club, Negotiation Club, Arctic Club).

Students and postgraduates annually participate in the Days of Science, Student Scientific Society’s flagship event. Experts from other universities, political and public fi gures as well as MGIMO representatives regularly attend conferences, round-tables and master classes held within the framework of the Days of Science.

MGIMO Business Spring is another platform that once a year brings together CEOs of Russian and foreign companies, distinguished entrepreneurs and businessmen who willingly share their knowledge and professional experience with students.

MGIMO Business Accelerator and Business Club are operating on a regular basis to help students to bring out their latent potential, turn their most ambitious ideas into real business projects.

MGIMO also hosts a number of law contests. It has become a venue for the national stage of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Competition, largest competition for law students which each year involves more than 2000 participants from 700 law schools and 90 countries.

International Commercial Arbitration Moot and Foreign Direct Investment International Moot Court are another two prestigious international contests MGIMO law students participate in.
