17 February 2018

February 17th, a unique exhibition of photos of wildlife by the famous artist Viktoras Dubinskas opened at MGIMO. The event was organized in the framework of the University’s environmental initiatives for 2018.

In his welcome words, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov noted that environmental protection is one of the most important tasks of humanity and is a key topic in international relations and politics. The Rector underlined the fact that this exhibition of pictures by Viktoras Dubinskas reveals the fragility and beauty of our planet and reminds us of our duty to protect wildlife.

The opening ceremony was attended by many famous politicians, civil servants and prominent figures of the media. Guests started by viewing the exhibition, which consists of more than 50 works displayed for the first time in Russia, and were later invited to attend a piano concert.

When asked about the goal of this project, Viktoras Dubinskas emphasized his desire to bring people closer to nature and to remind the general public about environmental issues.
