MGIMO Summer School Starts in Sochi

27 June 2017

June 26th marked the beginning of MGIMO’s fourth Sochi Summer School. The different courses will run in Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana until July 5th. 36 MGIMO students, selected based on their academic results and contribution to the work of student organizations, are participating in this year’s Summer School.

During the opening ceremony, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Educational Work, Igor Loginov, conveyed his greetings to the participants of the program and remarked that such cultural and educational events were a priority for MGIMO. In his speech, he also delved into the University’s contribution to the preparation of the global events hosted by Russia in 2017/2018: the World Festival of Youth and Students, the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

This year the program of the Summer School comprises a number of lectures and seminars on innovation management, law, public diplomacy and «soft power», all taught by MGIMO experts. The pedagogical style is interactive and students can practice their debating skills. In the afternoons, students participate in cultural events, visits and get to meet representatives of the Sochi City Administration.
