MGIMO Hosts Second Russian-Polish Conference

December 8th, the second Russian-Polish and Polonist Conference, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Poland on Friendly and Good-Neighborly Cooperation, took place at MGIMO University.

The conference gathered academics and experts specialized in Eastern European and Polish studies as well as diplomats, civil servants and public figures.

The event was opened by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov and attended by the Ambassador of Poland to Russia Wlodzimierz Marciniak, the Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, Leonid Drachevsky, the Director of the Institute of General History at the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Chubaryan and other prominent guests.

The participants hashed out a myriad of issues relating to the political, economic, historical and cultural aspects of bilateral relations, focusing on energy issues in Europe and ongoing integration processes.

The Polish delegation comprised experts from the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, the Warsaw School of Economics, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, Adam Mickiewicz University and other institutions.
