MGIMO Launches Joint PhD Program with University of Reading

October 24th, a delegation from the University of Reading came to MGIMO to discuss cooperation in education. The sides signed an agreement on the creation of a joint PhD program.

The British delegation comprised the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading Vincenzo Raimo and the Vice-Dean of Henley Business School, also Director of the Center for Euro-Asian Studies at the University of Reading Yelena Kalyuzhnova.

The guests were greeted by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov, the Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs, Andrey Baykov, the Vice-Rector for Research Evgeny Kozhokin and the Vice-Rector for General Affairs Artem Malgin as well as other members of the faculty. The parties discussed the undergraduate, graduate and MBA programs they set up together and considered the opportunity to carry out joint research projects in the future.

During the meeting, MGIMO and the University of Reading extended further yet their cooperation by signing an agreement on the creation of a dual postgraduate program, allowing students to defend their thesis at MGIMO and at the University of Reading and to obtain a PhD from both institutions.
