MGIMO Welcomes Moldovan Ambassador Andrei Neguta

September 6th, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov had a meeting with the Ambassador of Moldova to Russia Andrei Neguta, which was attended by the University’s Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Victor Kirillov and the Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs Andrey Baykov.

During the interview, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the educational and culture spheres, as well as the opportunity of developing student exchange programs. MGIMO currently has a cooperation agreement with the Institute of International Relations of Moldova (IRIM). The sides also spoke about international events.

After the meeting, the Moldovan delegation, accompanied by MGIMO students specializing in the history and language of Moldova visited the University’s scientific library, named after Ivan Tyulin. The Ambassador donated seventy-five books to the library on behalf of the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of Moldova. Victor Kirillov thanked the Ambassador for the gift and expressed optimism that the books would play a role in enhancing the interaction between Russia and Moldova.
