MGIMO and McKinsey Sign Cooperation Agreement

MGIMO and McKinsey Sign Cooperation Agreement

26 November 2018

November 22nd, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov had a meeting with representatives of McKinsey’s Moscow Office.

On MGIMO’s side, the meeting was also attended by the Dean of the School of International Economic Relations Oleg Pichkov and Deputy Dean Yulia Potatina. McKinsey was represented by its Partner Anton Kamenskov and Senior Project Manager, Anton Marushev.

Oleg Pichkov presented the goals of the meeting: to find the best ways to expand cooperation between MGIMO and McKinsey, and noted with interest that this process was initiated by MGIMO graduates of the School of International Economic Relations (Anton Marushev 2007 and Alexander Kamenkov 2007).
Vladimir Morozov welcomed the guests and noted that MGIMO’s most successful partnerships are built with the participation of its graduates. The Vice-Rector also asked about McKinsey’s experience cooperating with other universities.

Anton Marushev responded that his company focuses its efforts on 10-15 faculties of leading Russian universities. Graduates of MGIMO’s School of International Economic Relations are of particular interest to McKinsey as they have all the necessary skills to quickly adapt to a demanding international work environment. Anton Marushev suggested his firm could organize a simplified recruitment system for MGIMO graduates.

Vladimir Morozov spoke out in favor of this initiative and described the vocational training received by MGIMO students. Oleg Pichkov gave an overview of the new programs launched by MGIMO and its partner universities, such as the undergraduate program implemented with the University of Reading. The sides also mulled over the opportunity of including some McKinsey training courses in MGIMO’s programs. After the meeting, the parties signed a Cooperation Agreement devoted to recruitment and training issues.
