MGIMO Rector Receives President of Italian Chamber of Deputies

March 4th, the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Italy, Roberto Fico, accompanied by the Ambassador of Italy to Russia Pasquale Terracciano came to MGIMO.

The guest attended a meeting with MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov, the Vice-Rector for General Affairs Artem Malgin, the Dean of the School of Government and Politics Henry Sardaryan, and delivered a lecture to students of the University.

Roberto Fico spoke about the new coalition government of the Northern League and the Five Start Movement in Italy and its relations with the European Union and Russia. The guest described the foreign and domestic policy priorities of his country and took questions from the audience. Russian students asked about the main topics on the agenda to be discussed with the Russian Parliament and Italian students from the dual Masters degree with the University of Macerata showed an interest in the Italian Government’s tax reforms.

The guest thanked MGIMO for its positive contribution to bilateral relations, noting that the University has seven dual MA programs with leading universities in Italy.
