International Cuisine Day

International Cuisine Day

14 May 2018

May 14th, the 10th International Cuisine Day unfolded at MGIMO University. The event was organized by the International Students Association, with the support of the International Office and the University’s Endowment Fund. Over 30 different nationalities presented their traditions and cuisine to enthusiastic guests.

The event was kicked off by the Head of the International Office, Egor Andreev, and attended by representatives of the embassies of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Belarus, Bulgaria, South Ossetia, Montenegro, Uzbekistan and others.

This year International Cuisine Day was held outside. Guests were offered exquisite foods from different gastronomical traditions and discovered the culture of various nations. Each community applied it best efforts in order to be remembered, and offered not just food but a real cultural experience by displaying traditional symbols and wearing national costumes.

The event reflects the multinational and multi-confessional nature of MGIMO, which welcomes a myriad of compatriots of different nationalities: Russians, Kazakhs, Ukrainians, Tatars, Armenians, Byelorussians, Latvians, Jews, Poles, Estonians, Azerbaijanis, Kirghiz and others. Guests also attended a concert with various music styles being performed.
