MGIMO Welcomes American Students

3 April 2017

March 31st, a group of American students came to attend lectures at MGIMO University. The visit was the outcome of a long-running cooperation between MGIMO’s School of Business and International Proficiency and the Council for International Educational Exchanges (CIEE).

The students came from a myriad of American universities, including the University of St. Joseph, the University of Virginia, Georgetown University, Brandeis University, the University of Pittsburgh, Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Vermont, George Washington University and the University of Pennsylvania.

The guests were greeted by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Artem Malgin and the Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs, Andrey Baykov. The Director of the Odintsovo campus Sergey Vasilev told the audience about the programs MGIMO offers to international students, and more specifically about the Summer School. The visiting students then attended lectures by MGIMO Professors on Russian-American relations and on regional trends in the Post-Soviet space.

The visiting students expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and remarked on the high level of expertise and the quality of the infrastructure of the University. The CIEE was founded in 1947 and is now one of the largest American organizations to implement educational exchanges around the world.
