April 6th, MGIMO Business Spring started, a two-day "business-to-students" forum organized yearly at the University by MGIMO Business Club and sponsored by the Endowment fund and the Alumni Association.
The plenary meeting was kicked off by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs, ArtemMalgin. The event brought together top managers from many corporations and international organizations including the Bosco group, Enel Russia, Disney and the Eurasian development bank.
A myriad of topics were discussed during the different sections including the drivers of economic growth in Russia, the adaptation of the economy to new conditions and changes in consumer demands. The speakers noted the positive impact young talented economists can have on the economy of their country, the important benefits Eurasian countries can reap from integrating into the world economy and the gap between expectations and reality on the electric power market. Disney's General Director in Russia and the CIS gave a talk on how to set up a large media company from scratch, sharing some valuable advice for all start-ups.
