Russian High Commissioner for Human Rights Delivers Open Lecture at MGIMO

December 1st, in the framework of the solemn closing ceremony of the 28th Moscow Model United Nations, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova gave a talk on Human Rights.

The All-Russian open lecture marks the start of the educational project «Human Rights», designed by the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.

Tatiana Moskalkova described to the audience the main rights and freedoms each human is entitled to and shared her vision of the work of an ombudsman, illustrating her argumentation with concrete examples. The delegates of the Model UN put their questions to the High Commissioner and engaged in an exchange about children’s rights, the Russian President’s role in protecting citizens’ rights and a number of other topics.

The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of United Nations Associations and Head of the UNESCO Chair, Alexei Borisov, acted as moderator of the discussions. After the lecture, all participants attended a festive concert.
