Sports facilities

MGIMO students have plenty of opportunities to work out, as the University has a sports centre equipped with modern infrastructure.

Students can play football, mini-football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, and practice shooting. There are several combat classes students can attend, as well as group fi tness sessions.

Students can also use the gym, the tennis hall martial arts rooms as well as the sauna. 

MGIMO boasts a swimming pool,  which is one of the best in Moscow.

MGIMO has on campus an outdoor stadium weather is warm and includes a football fi eld, jogging lanes, volleyball and basketball courts, outdoor tennis courts, and grounds for mini-football and other
sports. In winter, an ice rink is created outdoors.

The pool and the gym are open every day from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. In the summertime from 8 a.m. to 22 p.m. Students can purchase a subscription to the gym with a 50% discount

Since 2008, the Sports Center has held the MGIMO Olympic Games. They cover events such as running, long jump, chess, table tennis and swimming, shooting, along with team events including tug of war, mini-football and basketball. More than 300 people participate in the Games, including a large number of international students.

The MGIMO Volunteering Centre established in 2011 provides training for almost 1,000 students who directly assisted in coordination of XXII Olympic Games and XI Paralympic Games 2014 and acted as interpreters. In addition, MGIMO students are actively engaged in preparation of the World Football Cup 2018.
